CITRUS COUNTY SPEEDWAY

U.S. Highway 41
2 miles south of Inverness at the Fairgrounds

Citrus County Speedway is a 3/8 mile high banked paved oval with an embedded figure 8.   Classes include pure  stock, V8 thunder stock, open wheel modified, 4 cylinder bombers, super late model, school bus figure 8 and more.

Hours: Every Saturday: Grandstand opens at 4:00 pm, first heat at 5:30 pm.

Grandstand Admission: Adults $13.00, Student (12-17) $9.00, Senior 60+ $9.00, Children 11 & under $5.00, Children under 42" free.

HOMOSASSA BUTTERFLY
6991 W. Cardinal Street • Homosassa, FL 34446

Homosassa Butterfly features a 2,500 square foot enclosed habitat filled with six different native Florida species and 20-25 more non-native species (numbers vary by season).  The educational experience is enhanced by a state-of-the-art 34-seat movie room for film viewing.  Information is also available on establishing and maintaining a home butterfly garden.

Hours: 7 days/week 10am to 5pm

Admission Fees: $8.00 Adults, $7.00 Seniors, $6.00 children 3-12, Children two & under Free.

COASTAL HERITAGE MUSEUM
532 Citrus Avenue • Crystal River, FL

This Historic 1939 City Hall was built by the WPA  and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998.  Constructed of locally quarried limestone and sporting magnolia ceilings it houses local history exhibits, artifacts, furniture & photographs from this era.  A 1929 diarama of downtown Citrus Avenue, a fish house facade and one of the original jail cells are on display.

Hours of Operation: Tuesday - Saturday 10:00am - 2:00 pm

Admission  Fee:  Free to the Public (Donations Welcome).

OLD COURTHOUSE HERITAGE MUSEUM
One Courthouse Square • Inverness, FL 34450

Built in 1912 and listed on the National Registry in 1992 the Old Courthouse features two permanent galleries and one rotating gallery.  "Footsteps in Time" depicts pre-history in FL while "A Long Way Home" documents local history.  A Museum store provides a variety of books and gift items.  The second floor courtroom was rehabilitated in 2000.  Notably, the Elvis Presley film "Follow That Dream" was filmed here in 1961.

Hours: Monday-Friday, 10:00 am to 4:00 pm
