Location: 15 miles south of Crystal River. Turn right onto State Road 480.

Hunting:

Chassahowitzka WMA: (33,919 acres in Hernando County)
Habitat: coastal hardwood hammock, planted pines, cutover sandhill scrub and wet prairies. Deer Hunting, Hog Hunting, Migratory Bird Hunting, Small Game Hunting, Turkey Hunting. Camping and ATVs, prohibited. Dogs Allowed.  Scheduled hunts include archery, muzzleloading gun and general gun, small game and spring turkey.

Homosassa WMA: (5,514acres in Citrus County)
Habitat: forested wetlands, planted pine and improved pasture. Deer Hunting first scheduled in 2008; Hog Hunting, Migratory Bird Hunting, Small Game Hunting, Turkey Hunting. Camping, Dogs and ATVs, Prohibited.

POTTS PRESERVE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

 
 
Location: From 581 in Inverness to Dee River Ranch Road  
Hours of Operation:

8:00 am to Sundown
365 Days a Year

Hunting:

Potts Preserve WMA: (7,408 acres in Citrus County)
Habitat: forested wetlands, mixed upland forest and improved pasture. Deer Hunting, Hog Hunting, Migratory Bird Hunting, Small Game Hunting, Turkey Hunting, Camping at designated sites,  ATVs, Prohibited.  Scheduled hunts include archery, muzzleloading gun and general gun hog-dog, small game and spring turkey.

FLYING EAGLE WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT AREA

 
 
Location: From US 41 in Inverness, east on Eden Drive. Road changes to Moccasin Slough Road. 4 miles to entrance.  
Hours of Operation:

8:00 am to Sundown
365 Days a Year

Hunting:

Flying Eagle WMA: (10,247 acres in Citrus County)
Habitat: freshwater marsh, dry oak hammock and improved pasture. Deer Hunting, Hog Hunting, Migratory Bird Hunting, Small Game Hunting, Turkey Hunting, Poor; Walk-in only; Camping, Dogs and ATVs, Prohibited.  Scheduled hunts include archery, muzzleloading gun and general gun, small game and spring turkey.
