Dunnellon's "beach" is located behind City Hall at the confluence of the Rainbow and Withlacoochee Rivers. A swimming area and picnic area are available.
Swimming on the Rainbow River is also available at K. P. Hole Park, 9435 SW 190 Avenue Road. Open daily - amenities include swimming, picnicking, a boat ramp, canoeing, kayaking and tubing. Local residents include a variety of freshwater fish, turtles, heron, ibis, cormorants, alligators and river otters.
