PASCO COUNTY

Created in 1887 from the southern third of Hernando County the county seat is in Dade City.  Rapid commercial and residential growth has occured along the Suncoast Parkway, which bisects the county from North to South and provides easy access to Tampa.

Pasco County is home to a number of Florida's nudist parks and resorts which provides a significant source of tax revenue.

Pasco County is one of the fastest growing counties in the State and is the gateway to tropical Florida.  History and modern convenience reside side by side on the Nature Coast and Pasco County is no exception. 

From small laid-back towns, historic streetscapes, bayous and inlets and communities built around miles of water canals Pasco County has much to explore.  Meandering rivers traverse through bustling towns on their way to the Gulf of Mexico.

Saint Leo Abbey was founded in 1889 by Father Gerald Pilz, the first Benedictine Monk in Florida.  The historical district encompasses 100 acres and contains three historic buildings and is on the U. S. National Register of Historic Places.
