FOREST CAPITAL MUSEUM STATE PARK

Forest Capital State Museum details the heritage and history of Florida's forest industry. Focusing on the longleaf pine and their products  the Visitor Center sits on 13 acres of longleaf pines over 50 years old.

The 1864 Cracker homestead adjacent to the museum is furnished with antiques from the late 1800's. A garden, corncrib, barn and other typcial outbuildings from this era complete the picture. 

Hours: Thursday - Monday 9am to 12pm; 1pm to 5pm. Closed Tuesday & Wednesday.

Admission Fees:Park Entrance is free.   Museum Entrance $1.00 Adults, Children under  6 are free.

STEINHATCHEE FALLS

   Directions: From Perry take Hwy 19 south approximately 24 miles to Hwy 51.  Steinhatchee Falls will be 2 miles down on left.
   From Steinhatchee go North on State Road 51 for approximately 8 miles turn right on the Steinhatchee Falls Road. 
   From Hwy 19-27 turn left at the cross roads of SR 51 and Hwy 19-27 onto  SR 51, go 1 mile and turn left on  Steinhatchee Falls Road. 

 A limerock outcropping in the Steinhatchee River forms a natural bridge extending all the way across the river and creating a three-foot waterfall.  This served as a crossing for Native American, early settlers and vehicles before there were bridges.  Today this peaceful setting includes pavilions, boat launch and restrooms.  Swimming is allowed but use caution.
