Wakulla State Forest

(Wakulla Tract)
Wakulla State Forest is a Wildlife Management Area with regulated hunting limited to primitive hunt and only archery/muzzle loading during regular deer season.  Modern shotgun use is allowed during spring turkey season.

Bradwell Bay Wilderness Area

24,602 acres

The second largest Wilderness in Florida Bradwell Bay Wilderness Area is a swamp thick with titi trees, hardwood and pine.  Small ponds abound and the Sopchoppy River forms the eastern edge of the area.  The water table lies close to or above ground level so expect to get wet. Motorized equipment is not allowed.

Apalachicola National Forest

HUNTING
A Wildlife Management ARea Permit is required for all hunters to hunt in this forest.

Shooting Range

The range is open to the public, open from sunrise to sunset and is unsuperives.  Backboard are provided but shooters must supply target, tacks and staples. There is no fee to use the range.  The range is closed the fourth saturday of each month from daylight to 2:00 PM for Hunter Education classes.

Location: Forest Road 305
Transporting firearms is limited to state and county roads via three routes:

Turn West off County Road 373 (Springhill Road) onto Tom Roberts Road, to Forest Road 305

Turn North off State Road 267 (Bloxham Cutoff) onto Forest Road 305

From State Highway 20, take Forest Road 260 (Silver Lake Road) to Forest Road 305

FISHING
A variety of fishing opportunities are available for shoreline, bank or wade fishing as well as boat fishing on rivers and lakes.  Fish for sunfish, crappie, catfish, striped bass or largemouth bass.

St. Marks National Wildlife Refuge

Panacea Unit
Open to quota-hunts during the fall and winter months.

Pools along Lighthouse Road (CR 59) are open to boats March 15 - October 15.

Access refuge road 316 in the Panacea Unit leading to ponds in the Otter Lake vicinity will be open from March 15 - May 15.  Otter Lake and lakes adjacent to Surf Road are open year round, however outboard motors larger than 10 hp are not allowed in the Panacea Unit.
